31 Mar 2015

This week we got our iPads. So that's cool. Now all I carry around is my iPad and a few spare copies of The Book of Mormon. We found a new investigator this week. Her name is Phillipa. We put her on date for baptism, but she fell off because she didn't come to church. She didn't come because on Saturday night she got into some anti material. She was all upset and wouldn't talk to us in person. So we had this big long battle over text where she called us liars, She also thinks we are all sworn to secrecy about something. So that was the big event this week. Last week I forgot to mention that I bought a 5lb bag of shredded cheese. I haven't even made a dent in it yet. I was so happy when I found out Wisconsin made it to the final four again. They are going to beat Kentucky this year. I so wish I could watch it. I guess I will have to watch it when I get back. Today for zone activity we are playing dodge ball. Last time I played I threw my arm out. Well that's all for this week.

24 Mar 2015

This week was good, I went on exchanges with my district leader Elder Oliveros. He was in my district when I was being trained.  We had lots of fun, He is a great guy. Last week after we got done emailing we went to our zone activity. We played dodge ball. I have gotten pretty good at it. We play with this guy who plays in a dodge ball league with the surrounding states. He told me to look him up after I get home because he wants me on his team. I guess I got recruited to play minor league dodge ball.

Tomorrow we get our I-pads. Most everyone is excited to get them. I'm not excited. I could really care less if I got one. I like doing the stuff on paper and its going to make my bag heavier. I have come to love my paper scriptures. I don't think I will spend more time than I will have to on it. Well that's all folks, Until next week.

17 Mar 2015

This week was interesting. We had 11 hours of finding and a lot of that was tracting. We knocked on this ladies house that Elder Stiner told me a prostitute lived there. So she answered and this lady came out and she was in her late 40's and she said "sorry guys I don't got time I'm on the clock and I have a client waiting right now." We said good bye and left. I think I'm scarred for life. We also had a lesson with an engaged couple and two of their kids. We put the couple on date for April 11th.  There is a lot of hurdles to get over, but we can do it with the Lord's help. We have just entered week three of this transfer so we are almost half over. There are some great people in this area. That's all I got for this week.

13 Mar 2015 - Handwritten

I am feeling some homesickness coming back on.  I don't know why, but I always feel a little homesick when I get transferred.  Elder Stiner and I are getting along alright.  We don't have very similar personalities, but I can get along with pretty much anyone.  I don't see any problems in the future.
I have already met some great people.  I just wish I could remember their names.  The members in this stake love us though.  I really miss Valley Park.  It doesn' t help that I see my favorite part of it is on the other side of the street.  I got really close to the Childs family last transfer.  In about a week all should be well so don't worry.  I think I have slight anxiety.
I love you.
Write back soon.

10 Mar 2015

This week was good. It was a little slow, but it was good. Elder Stiner is good, we get along fine. I didn't get to go to Daniel's baptism. It made me kind of sad. My area is on a downhill spiral. If it doesn't pick up I think we will get white washed. We are in the smallest area in the mission. Our plan is to just tract our whole area. I'm going to work hard this transfer so I can be a senior companion next transfer. I really miss my old area because I had lots of area to cover and lots of people to work with. I talked to Elder Lyon today and my last area is starting to explode. They have 3 people on date right now. There are non members here but lots of them are under 18 so we need parental permission but we aren't getting it. It makes me frustrated. At least I'm still enjoying myself. I have met some really neat people here though. Well that's all for this week.  Could you also photocopy my mission call and send me the copy you made?

3 Mar 2015

This week was a good one. We spent 6 hours at the mission office one day, because we had to discuss the state of the mission and then learned we will be getting I-pads in a few weeks. Elder Don R. Clarke came back to give us a four hour training on that. Daniels baptism is on Saturday. It’s just too bad I’m getting transferred tomorrow. I am going to the Taylorsville South stake. It is across the street from my current area, but it is part of the Bennion zone. I will be Jr. companion to Elder Stiner. He came out the transfer before me. He does kind of have a course though. Every one of his companions has gone home except for his current one and only one of those companions went home because his mission was over. But I don't plan to come home soon so I will be ok. I found a replacement bike, but it doesn't have tires on it and it has disk brakes so I will have to get some rims that work with disk brakes. This bike is in a lot better condition than my current one and the frame is bigger so it will actually fit me. It is snowing right now and there is already like 4 inches. Well that’s all for this week.
